Arla Foods ingredients (Basking Ridge, NJ) has released a 100% whey protein hydrolysate solution called Lacprodan HYDRO.Clear, which is specially formulated for fortifying sparkling water with protein. The ingredient is fat, sugar, and lactose free, with an optimized taste, and long shelf life, capable of delivering up to 6% protein in sparkling water. “This means that sports nutrition brands can launch, for example, a standard 330ml can containing 20 g of whey protein per serving, making it perfect for sports nutrition users,” said Joe Katterfield, health and performance nutrition development manager for Arla, in a press release.
