Stan van den Berg, Global Account Manager CNS Media

I joined CNS Media as a fresh university graduate, looking to apply my theoretical skills to the “real world.” Working as a B2B food industry journalist has widely exceeded my expectations.

The numerous interviews I have conducted with corporate sustainability managers, infant formula start-ups, nutrition researchers, food lobby groups and artistic designers have shown me how far-reaching the F&B industry impacts everyday life and society.

All the while, my position provides me with a healthy amount of responsibility and has sharpened my self-accountability, self-discipline and attention to detail. This job has taught me how to write both accurately and quickly, all while polishing my storytelling skills.

My labors of love have become reporting on packaging design trends, single-use plastic legislation and corporate incentivization strategies to combat global hunger and malnutrition. Before starting at CNS Media, I never thought I would be vaguely interested in any one of those three topics.

Within the first year, this job provided me with a life-long compass for nutrition and packaging trends, arguably two of the most defining topics of our time.
